We created La Bellemont in the summer of 2007 with the wish to obtain an interpretation of French repertoire for viola da gamba and basso continuo based on the pleasure of sound per se and in gesture rhetoric. For this, we began to build an accompaniment in which the harpsichord and the theorbo reached combined timbres, attacks, arpeggio velocity, impulses and dynamics, creating a stable but elastic base over which the viol could give voice to a rhetorical discourse of great richness and expressivity.

Time and concerts definitely contributed to the sound concretion of this chamber music philosophy and to clearly establish the ultimate goal: reach a most expressive musical interpretation which moves the listener.
